Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) is asking for the public's help finding an armed man who robbed a Daytona Beach Checkers Thursday night. A man in a dark-colored sedan pulled up to the Checkers at 1174 Beville Rd. at around 7:53 PM Thursday. He drove up into the driver-side drive-through and ordered a combo meal. When he arrived at the checkout window, he was wielding a black firearm in his right hand. When the cashier opened the drive-through window and saw the man with the gun, the man told her, "I'm going to need you to give me all the money out of the register." The woman ran to the back of the restaurant and told the crew manager to call 911, according to police reports. One witness says she saw the man exit the vehicle, and while she did not see the man physically remove any money from the register, she believes he did because she heard coins falling to the ground and the crumbling of paper bills. A check of the register found that an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen in the incident, according to police reports. The suspect was described as a white man with brown eyes and white hair, according to DBPD. He was in his 30's, stood between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall, and weighed between 160 and 170 pounds. He could have a goatee or mustache. Police are asking anyone who may have information about the robbery to contact law enforcement.
