Plane Crash Leaves 2 Dead In Port Orange’s Spruce Creek Fly-In

Port Orange, FL – 2 people were killed on Tuesday when a plane crashed in the Spruce Creek Fly-In in Port Orange.

The single-engine 2009 Epic LT crashed just before 6 PM near 22 Taxiway Lindy Loop. According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office 1 of the witnesses who reported the crash told the dispatcher he saw the plane fly into the fog and it was “in an inverted flat spin when he came out of the fog.”

The plane crashed into a yard but didn’t hit any homes in the neighborhood. Other than the 2 fatalaties no injuries have been reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will conduct an investigation.

The people who died in the crash won’t be identified until their next of kin have been notified.
