Deltona, FL-A pizza delivery driver was carjacked in Deltona Saturday afternoon and deputies say he was pepper-sprayed or chemical-sprayed in the crime. Deputies say three suspects took off with his car.

VCSO says deputies went to the call around 12:46 PM in the 800 block of Abbott Avenue. 22-year-old Papa John's driver Nicholas Mutchler told deputies he was about to knock on a door when a suspect called to him from across the street as if the pizza delivery was for him.

Mutchler says he was pepper or chemical sprayed by the suspect as they met near his vehicle.

Mutchler says he ran down the street yelling for help and saw the suspect and two others get into his vehicle and drive away. The suspects were described as black males in their late teens or early twenties, with one of them wearing a green polo-style shirt with an eagle logo and cargo shorts. He was thin and about 6 feet tall with short hair.

The stolen vehicle was a 2014 Dodge Avenger with several stickers on the back window and a Florida State University tag WM69S. It was last seen westbound on Interstate 4 near exit 101C in Seminole County.

Mutchler was taken to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City as a precaution.
