DeLand, FL - A 65-year-old man was hit and killed by a car last night as he tried to walk across US-92 in DeLand.
According to FHP, 68-year-old Craig Bone of Port Orange was driving west on US-92 around 8:50 PM on Thursday, April 28, in his 2013 Kia 4-door. Wayne Borchers of DeLand tried to cross US-92 at Kepler Rd and walked directly into the path of Bone's car and the front of the Kia hit the 65-year-old. Borchers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is under investigation, but FHP says the incident is not alcohol related.
