Palm Coast, FL - A history of domestic violence progressed to another level Monday night when 35-year-old Monique Garcia stabbed her boyfriend, 43-year-old Justin Campbell, several times with a large knife at their Palm Coast home. Flagler County Sheriff's deputies responded to the home at 11 Wood Clift Lane about 10:30 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call from Campbell stating that he had been stabbed.  Campbell told deputies that he and Garcia were in a verbal argument when she struck him in the face. He further stated that when he tried to leave the home, Garcia went into the kitchen, got a large knife and stabbed Campbell as he was trying to walk out. Campbell said he turned around and in his attempts to disarm Garcia, he received defensive wounds to his left hand and upper torso.   He told deputies when he got the knife away from Garcia, he threw it in the detached lanai. Campbell left the house and called 9-1-1 and made contact with deputies down the street.  Deputies reported that there was a trail of bloody footprints from where they met Campbell back to the residence. Garcia attempted to tell a different story from Campbell, stating that he had kicked her in the back of the head with his boot.  The report states Garcia did have a wound on her head, Campbell was not wearing boots when he left the house.  Garcia also stated that she watched Campbell stab himself in the stomach. The report notes that Campbell did not have any stab wounds to the stomach. Fire Rescue transported Campbell to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach to be treated for his injuries.  Garcia was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.  She was taken to Florida Flagler Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, released and taken to Flagler County Jail, where she is being held without bond. Garcia does have a history of aggravated assault and domestic violence arrests in Flagler County.
