Palm Coast Holds Public Meetings On City Manager Search

Palm Coast, FL - Palm Coast wants to hear from its citizens in the search to hire a new City Manager, something the city hasn’t had to do for over a decade.

Today (October 24th), those residents will have two chances to give their input on who should replace Jim Landon after he was dismissed by the City Council unanimously last month from the job he had held since 2007.

There will be two public meetings today, one scheduled at 9 a.m. and the second at 6 p.m. in the Community Wing of Palm Coast City Hall.

City Council members will be on hand at the meetings to receive comments on what people would like to see from the new city manager and answer questions.

The search firm being used, Strategic Government Resources, will have Senior Vice President Doug Thomas at both meetings to provide information and answer questions.

Council members will use the comments and information gathered to develop a job description for what is wanted in the next city manager.

Suggestions on how to get the word out about the vacant position are also being requested from Palm Coast residents.

Each meeting should be about two hours long, according to city spokesperson Cindi Lane.

Those that would like more information can call the City Clerk's Office at 386-986-3713.
