Palm Coast Community Center To Undergo Renovation & Expansion

Posted

Palm Coast, FL - A major renovation and expansion project to update and revitalize the Palm Coast Community Center is underway.

On Feb. 1, the City of Palm Coast began the project which will add space for meetings, programs and parking. A large portion of the current structure will be torn down and replaced by a 21,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that will be 3 times the size of the older building, built in the mid-1970's.

The new facility will have 3 meeting/party rooms, a lobby, 2 kitchens and administrative offices for the Parks & Recreations Department. Outside there will be a new playground and basketball court, a trailhead with restrooms and parking. All renovations will preserve historic trees and be built to Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards.

The Community Center closed on Feb. 1 for construction to begin. You can visit the Parks & Recreation office at the Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast.

The project is expected to take a little over one year. Programs and meetings will continue to take place, but will be relocated during construction.
