Palm Coast, FL - 2 brothers from Palm Coast have been arrested for robbing a home with a 13-year-old girl inside.

FCSO says they got the call around 2 PM on Monday, October 17, from the 13-year-old who said she had just gotten home, 53 Birchwood Dr, from school when she found an unknown white man in one of the bedrooms. When he approached, she yelled and ran from the house and to a neighbor's home where she made the call. The burglar also fled.

A neighbor told deputies they saw the suspect get into a silver Ford Focus.

As FCSO was searching for that vehicle, a call came in from the Palm Coast Lowe's about a man matching the suspect's description who had just fled the store carrying a box. A witness at the store saw the suspect get into a silver Ford Focus before leaving the area. That witness followed the car until they lost sight near Beachway Dr.

Using the detailed information provided by the witnesses, deputies found the car near Beachway Dr and Belle Terre Pkwy. The driver, 30-year-old David Christopher Willet, and the passenger, 25-year-old Alex Robert Hagget were taken into custody and positively IDed by the 13-year-old and the neighbor.

Willet is facing charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief. He had just been released from the FL Department of Corrections on August 30, 2016, following his incarceration for trafficking in stolen property and grand theft. Hagget's been charged with attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling. Additional charges against the brothers are pending and the investigation is ongoing.

“I am extremely thankful that the 13-year-old victim was not injured after she was confronted by David Willett," said Sheriff James L. Manfre. "I am also very thankful for the witnesses who provided important information to our deputies. Without their assistance, we may not have been so quick in arresting them.”
