Daytona Beach, FL - 17 individuals, including several members of the Pagans Motorcycle Club, plead guilty for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.
That's according to United States Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez of the Middle District of Florida, who announced that several of the individuals now face life in prison while some face 40 years in prison.
According to court documents, the FBI, and soon the DEA, would begin an investigation in April of 2017, aimed at drug trafficking organizations (DTO) that had supplied multiple motorcycle clubs, which included the Pagans MC, who operated in the area with distribution amounts of meth.
It was during that investigation that law enforcement found out that 47-year-old Barbara Caylor-Hernandez of Ormond Beach was one of the leaders of a DTO that distributed kilogram amounts of meth to other DTOs and individuals located in Central Florida.
Members of the Caylor-Hernandez DTO transported meth from Georgia to multiple cities in Florida including St. Augustine, Holly Hill and Daytona Beach.
One of the members of that DTO, 28-year-old Melanie Kerr of Daytona Beach, would then distribute the meth to 47-year-old Brian Burt and 33-year-old Andrew Shettler,
At the time, Burt was a member of the Pagans' Mother Chapter, a group of 13 members that direct the Pagans' criminal activities throughout the United States.
Shettler was a member of the Thunderguards Motorcycle Club, a Pagans MC affiliate.
Law enforcement also learned that 33-year-old Michael Andrews, who was the sergeant-at-arms/enforcer for the local Pagans' chapter in Daytona Beach, received distribution amounts of meth from several sources, including a DTO operating in both Georgia and Central Florida.
That DTO transported large amounts of meth from Georgia to Central Florida for further distribution.
These cases were investigated by the FBI, DEA, Volusia Burea of Investigation, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and the Daytona Beach Police Department.
