Ormond Beach, FL - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office takes a 36-year-old Ormond Beach man into custody after determining that he had some sort of sexual contact with a child at her old residence near Orange City.

Marc Roselle remains behind bars this morning (December 7th) at Volusia County Jail after his arrest on Wednesday night (December 5th) at his home by VCSO's Child Exploitation Unit.

VCSO spokesperson Laura Williams says the initial tip came from a school guidance counselor on November 1st after the victim - a girl whose age and identity were redacted from the arrest report - told the counselor what happened.

"The incident reportedly occurred in unincorporated Volusia County at the victim’s former home," Williams noted. "The suspect is someone known to the victim."

Per the report, the girl claimed during an interview with detectives on November 5th that Roselle "sexually abused" her when she was nine years old and they were watching a movie in her bedroom, but it's not clear exactly when that took place since that part was also redacted.

The report did note that the girl says Roselle placed two of his fingers in her vagina and also touched her under her clothing.

Roselle is held without bond on a charge of sexual battery on a victim under 12 years of age.

VCJ records show Roselle's been booked there two other times, including in February 2017 for domestic battery by strangulation and in March 2014 on a battery charge. Roselle was on probation for the February 2017 incident.
