Ormond Beach, FL – Ormond Beach City Manager Joyce Shanahan is the top choice out of five candidates for City Manager of Naples, beating the former Volusia County Manager.

Naples City Council members publicly interviewed five candidates, including Shanahan and former Volusia County Manager Jim Dinneen and made their choice during a special meeting today with a 5-2 vote. She would replace the current manager, Bill Moss, who is retiring after ten years at the position.

Shanahan was chosen by five and then voted for unanimously. Contract negotiations will need to be completed. An official vote to approve the contract will happen at the council’s next meeting.

Shanahan was hired in Ormond Beach in February of 2009. She was voted city manager of the year in 2013 by the Volusia County League of Cities.
