CORRECTION (03-25-19): The actual location of the accident was U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard near Brick Road, not Tomoka Farms Road. The initial information we received from FHP was incorrect.

Earlier reporting below.

Daytona Beach, FL - One person is dead and three others are hurt following a traffic accident just west of Interstate 95 in Daytona Beach.

The wreck happened around 8:30 p.m. last night (March 24th) at U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard and Brick Road.

Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Kim Montes tells us multiple vehicles were involved.

"One person is confirmed deceased on scene," Montes added. "Three other people were transported to the hospital."

FHP has since identified the woman who died as 18-year-old Katelyn Clark of DeLand.

According to an FHP report, Clark was driving a 2008 Honda Civic westbound on the outside lane of U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard near Brick Road when she rear-ended a 1997 Jeep sport utility vehicle in front of her which was going in the same direction, pushing it onto the right shoulder.

Troopers say that's when another vehicle - a 1996 Ford truck - came up from behind as it traveled in the same direction and lane, hitting the Honda as it sat disabled on the roadway.

FHP says it's not clear at this point why Clark didn't slow down for the vehicle in front of her or why the Ford truck driver - 57-year-old Eugene Williams of Orange City - didn't do the same, but the investigation remains active.

Williams went to Halifax Health Medical Center in serious condition, while two women in the Jeep - 49-year-old Jacqueline Suggs and 77-year-old Elna Suggs - were also transported to HHMC. The younger Suggs was driving and had minor injuries, while the elder didn't report any injuries, per FHP.

Troopers believe alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash and that everyone involved was wearing a seat belt except for Williams.
