One Dead In Shooting At Daytona Beach Motel

UPDATE (7-19-18): Daytona Beach police have arrested 40-year-old Marcus Pinckney in Ormond Beach. He is being charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona Beach police are investigating a fatal shooting this morning at a hotel on U.S. 1.

Officers were sent to the Sun Plaza Motel near the Daytona Beach Golf Club just after 2 a.m., according to Daytona Beach Police Department spokesperson Lyda Longa.

“Upon investigation, it was learned that three men were shot in the parking lot, possibly after a dispute or a feud with the suspect,” Longa added. “One of the men died at the scene.”

That victim has yet to be identified, but Longa did note that he was 57 years old.

“The deceased male and one of the injured males are father and son,” Longa noted. “The third male may be partially blind.”

The other two victims are in stable condition at Halifax Health Medical Center.
