NSB Offers Up An 'Island Education' During The Month Of May

New Smyrna Beach, FL-Turtles, dunes and coast restoration will be covered in the Island Education series that continues through May 25 in New Smyrna Beach.

Weekly one-hour classes begin at 9 a.m. and are free and open to the public. Registration is not required.  

The May topics are:

·         May 4: Walking the wrack

·         May 11: Native plants and coastal restoration

·         May 18: Helping sick or injured turtles

·         May 25: Coastal dunes and woodlands

The first three classes will be held at Esther Street Beachfront Park, 551 Esther Street, one block north of Flagler Avenue. The May 25 class will be offered at Grayce K. Barck Park at the intersection of Sapphire Road and Peninsula Avenue. Attendees should park in the Peninsula Avenue lot.
