NSB Middle School Students Evacuated Due To Small Fire

New Smyrna Beach, FL – New Smyrna Beach Middle School students are finishing their day at the high school due to a transformer fire in a small utility building at the school.

Firefighters responded to the building near the school’s cafeteria just after 10:30 a.m. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and got the blaze under control by 11 a.m. The power company also responded and cut the electricity off to the building.

Students and staff all got out safely. Parents wishing to check out their children can do so at the high school.

Bus riders will be picked up at the high school and taken home at the end of the day.
