Deltona, FL-The State Attorney's Office will not file charges in the shooting death of Raymond Davis by Bobby Harrelson Jr.

After review of material related to the November 6, 2015, incident, the determination has been made that Harrelson, an off-duty DeLand police officer, was in fear for his mother, Hazel Hind's life. Harrelson stated that he believed Davis was killing Hinds and he believed that her death was imminent.

He went into his bedroom, retrieved his duty weapon (a Glock .40) and demanded Davis let his mother up. Harrelson repeated this several times. Davis did not stop and Harrelson fired his duty weapon one time and struck Davis in the head.

According to a memorandum, Harrelson was justified in his use of deadly force in the shooting of his uncle, Raymond Davis. No further action is expected on this matter.
