Daytona Beach, FL - The State Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday that it filed a charge of battery against a 50-year-old former National Parks Service employee.

The 1st-degree misdemeanor battery charge filed against Edwin Rafael Correa by the Office of the State Attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit of FL stems from a complaint filed with the New Smyrna Beach Police Department about an incident that happened back on December 4 of 2015.

According to the incident report, Correa grabbed a coworker (both worked at Canaveral National Seashore Park at the time) and held her in place while he kissed her face against her will. Correa was the Chief Park Ranger and the supervisor of the victim, who filed the battery report at the NSBPD on February 25, 2016.

An investigation revealed that there was an established pattern of sexual harassment involving Correa and female employees. At least 2 other employees said Correa made unwanted comments and would ask for dates, but he never physically touched them.
