Daytona Beach, FL - NASCAR and Daytona International Speedway employees will celebrate Earth Day by planting trees at Riverfront Park.

The event is part of the NASCAR Green Clean Air Tree Planting Program, which is the largest tree planting program in sports. The program has planted "more than 400,000 trees across the United States," said Andrew Booth, Daytona International Speedway Spokesman. "This program offsets the carbon emissions from NASCAR racing for the next 40 years."

"It's a great opportunity for the employees that work here at the company to give back to the community," said Booth. This is the 7th year that NASCAR and DIS employees have done a tree planting ceremony.

The event will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 20. A group photo will be taken at 11 AM. The tree planting will be at Riverfront Park on S. Beach Street in Daytona Beach, between International Speedway Blvd. and E. Magnolia Ave. Parking is available on City Island and at the Daytona Beach Regional Library.
