Newcomer Murphy Upsets Incumbent Mica In 7th District US House Race

Volusia County, FL-An upset in the race for the 7th US House seat in a contest that drew national attention. Newcomer Democrat Stephanie Murphy beat longtime GOP US Congressman John Mica. Murphy got about 51 percent of the vote. Mica has represented the 7th since 1992. Races of note: GOP Congressman Ron DeSantis wins re-election to his third term in Congressional District 6.
