DeLand, FL - A second-degree murder charge has been filed against a 69-year-old man after detectives find another man dead in a DeLand field.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office found 44-year-old Carlos Manzanares (below)' body yesterday afternoon (November 27th) near the intersection of South Grand Avenue and West Euclid Avenue.

Spokesperson Andrew Gant says Reinaldo J. Martinez is the man who was charged after investigators found a gunshot wound in Manzanares' upper torso.

"Detectives determined Martinez shot Manzanares early Sunday following an argument at 611 Margaret Street [in] DeLand," Gant added. "Blood evidence was discovered on Martinez's clothes and his van."

As of early this morning, Martinez has not been booked at Volusia County Jail, but VCJ records do show Martinez has been booked there four times between September 2006 and May 2008. What he was booked for wasn't immediately available, nor were any of his prior mugshots.

VCSO was searching for Manzanares and 45-year-old Reinaldo Martinez Jr. after reports of a shooting at the Margaret Street home early Sunday (November 25th). Martinez Jr. is no longer being sought, according to Gant.
