Multiple Cars Burglarized & 1 Car Reported Stolen; DeLand Subdivisions

DeLand, FL - Update 5/8/17: The car burglaries occurred in the Saddlebrook subdivision and there were 2 vehicles stolen from the Oaks subdivision.

The DeLand Police Department would also like to remind residents to always lock their vehicles at night as car burglaries are often a crime of opportunity.

Earlier Reporting: Multiple car burglaries occurred in a DeLand subdivision early Saturday morning and a car was reported stolen from another subdivision.

According to the DeLand Police Department, the crimes occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, May 6, and they are believed to be related. Surveillance video was recovered and it shows at least 4 suspects involved in the offenses. Several of the suspects appear to have been armed with handguns at the time of the offenses.

The public is advised to use caution in reference to the suspects.
