Midday High Tides, Beach Crowds Expected For Easter Weekend

Volusia County, FL-The weather forecast is iffy, but county officials are still warning about big Easter weekend crowds expected at the beach, midday high tides forecast, and strong rip current conditions.

The high tide between 11 AM and noon could force traffic areas to close for a time. Beach officials also telling drivers who park on the beach to be prepared to move their vehicles.

Special events that will affect traffic include the Easter Beach Run, which starts at the Daytona Beach Bandshell at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, and several sunrise services on Sunday morning

Beach Safety officials also reminding beachgoers that alcohol is prohibited on the beach and so are plastic cups.
