White House Photographer To Speak At Ormond Library

Larry Downing

Ormond Beach-FL-A man who took lots of pictures of a number of presidents will make a presentation at the Ormond Beach Regional Library Monday afternoon.

Larry Downing, a photographer with the White House Press Corps from 1977 until his retirement in 2015, brings his memories and experiences to the Ormond Beach Regional Library this Monday. Downing said a favorite memory took place when Ronald Reagan was President.

Downing spent 38 years in Washington, D.C., accompanying each President on Air Force One all over the world. He's seen a lot of history and his presentation will show that. There is an accomplishment that Downing is especially proud of. He accomplished his personal goal of landing, and taking-off, in each of the 50 states while a guest of the president on Air Force One.

The free presentation follows a brief meeting of the Friends of the Ormond Beach Library at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9.

Reservations are not required. For more information call the library at 386-676-4191, ext. 21084.
