Palm Coast, FL - The suspicious death of a woman who was found in her Palm Coast home has been ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner's Office. According to the Medical Examiner's Office, Faith Lorraine Cummings, 44, died from blunt force trauma to the head with asphyxiation. Faith's ex-husband, 46-year-old Michael Cummings, has been charged with second-degree murder with a weapon. When Flagler County Sheriff's deputies arrived at 6 Point Dr. on the morning of Thursday, January 11, they found Faith's body on a bed in a spare bedroom. Michael said that he found her in the spare bathroom where he claimed she fell in the bathtub. Investigators say they found signs of a struggle, Faith had bruises on her face and body, and the spare bathroom was covered in blood. Detectives brought in blood splatter experts to examine the scene. After investigating, they said the blood splatter in the bathroom indicated that Faith was hit with a weapon. A Flagler County judge signed an arrest warrant for Michael Cummings on Monday afternoon. He was taken into custody and is being held at the Flagler County Detention Facility without bond. “Our detectives have worked around the clock to solve this case and have done an outstanding job,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This case again proves that you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Often, domestic violence is hidden from others and the victim is living with their attacker. This case shows just how fast a domestic argument can spiral out of control and into a murder. It also exemplifies just how much more work we as a community have to do to reduce and prevent domestic violence.”
