Man Pleads No Contest To Charge Of Blowing Off Dog's Paw

South Daytona, FL - A South Daytona man charged with third-degree animal cruelty prior to Ponce's Law, entered a no contest plea on Wednesday.

59-year-old Madison Carroll told police officers that he was upset that his neighbor's Chihuahua-Dachshund mix dog was running loose in his yard on November 14, 2017. Police say that Carroll threw an M-80 at the dog, destroying one of its rear paws. That leg had to be amputated.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the S. James Foxman Justice Center. That's also Carroll's 60th birthday.
