Daytona Beach, FL - A Daytona man who was busted for selling marijuana says it was all just so he could buy Christmas gifts for his kids.

Shortly before five o'clock yesterday evening (December 3rd), Officers with the Daytona Beach Police Crime Suppression Team arrested 35-year-old James Robinson,  seizing over 650 grams of marijuana and about $4,900 in cash from his vehicle.

The report says that officers found Robinson parked in his vehicle in an apartment complex located off School Street.

When one of the officers walked over to his vehicle, they say he could smell marijuana inside the vehicle, which was approximately 15 feet away at the time according to police.

The officer said that when they looked inside the driver side window, they found a large plastic bag with marijuana in plain view, and a black backpack with multiple bags inside that also contained marijuana.

Robinson was then asked to exit the vehicle, where he was subsequently arrested by DBPD.

They also found a black scale with marijuana residue, a metal grinder with marijuana residue as well as two flip phones in his possession.

Nearly $4,900 were also seized by officers.

As the investigation continued, Robinson's wife arrived on scene. Robinson told his wife and officers that he was only selling the marijuana to help buy Christmas gifts for his kids.

Robinson was charged with intent to sell marijuana within 1,000 feet of a daycare and possession of drug paraphernalia.
