flagler-county-sheriff-logo Palm Coast, FL-FCSO arrested a 51-year-old Palm Coast man for an early morning robbery at Greg Lynn Jewelers in Palm Coast.  Police say Craig Chavez entered the store by breaking windows with a hatchet. After a check of the business surveillance video, investigators found that Chavez entered the store a total of three times. The first time was at approximately 6:00 a.m. He was wearing a plastic bag over his head and took a small bag containing nothing of value. Chavez returned about one hour later, used the same hatchet to break another window.  This time, he had a t-shirt wrapped around his head.   He took approximately 13 to 15 bracelets valued at around $500.00 and fled the scene.  As entered his vehicle, he exposed the tag of the vehicle, as well as his face to the security cameras. The video shows Chavez coming back a third time after driving his vehicle to a nearby business.  He entered the business without bothering to cover his face.  He left after a brief period of time but was unsuccessful in taking any other items. Police believe he returned to see if he left his hatchet in the business. After running the tag, detectives made contact and arrested Chavez. He has been charged with burglary of a structure, criminal mischief, grand theft and possession of burglary tools.
