bullet casings asphalt Deltona, FL - A man has been arrested and charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder for shooting at a woman who paid him for drugs with a fake $100 bill. The 34-year-old victim initially told VCSO that she was hit by a stray bullet from a random shooter while driving in Deltona late Monday night. Investigators were skeptical so they drilled down into her story. Eventually she admitted that she had been shot by an angry drug dealer after she tried paying him for drugs with a fake $100 bill. On Thursday night investigators managed to track down that shooter, 26-year-old Samuel Lockhart. He's now in jail and is facing charges of attempted 2nd-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He's being held at the Volusia County Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing but the Sheriff's Office doesn't plan on filing additional charges. lockhart
