Palm Coast, FL - A man is airlifted to the hospital after a shooting incident that took place early this morning.

Flagler County Sheriff's Office announced that they're now investigating a shooting that took place off White Star Drive just after 1:30 this morning in Palm Coast.

Deputies say they found an adult male inside of a vehicle with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the hospital with the assistance of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and their helicopter "Air One."

Deputies, detectives and crime scene investigators are on scene conducting the investigation.

“This is an active investigation in the beginning stages,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “While we are still collecting the details of what occurred, we do believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.”

A portion of White Star Drive will also be closed this morning temporarily as officials investigate. The Flagler County Bus Garage has been notified of the road closure in order to re-route school buses.
