Daytona Beach, FL - A barrier to insurance giant Brown & Brown's plan to build its future headquarters on North Beach Street could come down in only a few more weeks.

Chris Noe, the man who owns the home in question at 328 Wisconsin Place, has gone round and round with the company for several years. There is a deal in place that would allow Noe time to take the coquina house apart or move it off the property. Brown & Brown paid Noe $400,000 for a property he paid only $55,000 for in 2011. They have given him a verbal extension through August 21 to do something. Brown & Brown expects to begin construction on a $30 million. 10-story headquarters campus later this year. Area leaders expect this to be the beginning of redevelopment in the downtown area.
