Investigators Searching For Truck Used To Steal A Boat

Edgewater, FL - Investigators are on the lookout for the pickup truck that was used to steal a boat.

Investigators from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office are searching for a Ford F-250 that was used to steal a boat and trailer from a dealer in Edgewater on March 5. It was around 8:10 PM on that Saturday when a suspect cut the chain on the gate at Islamorada Boatworks on US-1 and drove inside and stole a boat and a trailer. Both were later recovered by a deputy, but the boat was stripped of its motor and most components.

The suspect vehicle is described by officials as "a lifted dark or black newer-model F-250 Crew Cab with aftermarket rims and an LED light bar above the windshield."

VCSO is asking anyone who recognizes the truck or has any information about the incident to contact the Sheriff's Office at 386-423-3301 or Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 888-277-TIPS. You can also text your tip by sending "TIP231 (then your message)" to     CRIMES. Anyone who provides information to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and could qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.
