I-95 Reopens After Suicidal Man Jumps From Bridge

Daytona Beach, FL - Things are back to normal on Interstate 95 in Daytona Beach after a man committed suicide by jumping onto the highway from the Beville Road overpass.

It happened around 5:30 last night (April 18th), snarling southbound traffic for nearly three hours and forcing detours to nearby roads.

Daytona Beach police tell us the man had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend at the nearby Pelican Bay gated community just before he drove to the overpass and committed suicide. He died at the scene.

DBPD has not released any information about that man's identity.
