Flagler County, FL - A human skeleton has been removed from a shallow grave in sand dunes off of A1A.

Those remains, found in the 3800 block of N Ocean Shore Blvd, have been taken to the medical examiners office to determine the sex, age, and cause of death. It's unknown how long this process will take.

The remains were found during clean up in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Workers cleaning up the beach saw bones sticking out from the exposed sand dunes and informed law enforcement officers on Monday. According to officials, the bones wouldn't have been found if it weren't for Matthew eroding the sand dunes.

Anyone with info related to this discovery or any crime in Flagler County should call the FCSO at 386-313-4911, or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS, where you can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
