Port Orange, FL – A GoFundMe account has been created to raise money for the Port Orange Police detective who was left in critical condition in a motorcycle accident that killed his wife. It happened Sunday, April 24, when Dave Fouts and his wife Jennifer “Jen” Steinmann-Fouts were involved in the accident. Jen was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and Dave was airlifted from the scene.

Dave has been unconscious since the crash and is sedated while in critical condition. He will need several surgeries, but doctors can’t start work until the swelling in his brain and body subsides.

According to the GoFundMe page, “100% of your contributions will go towards Jen’s memorial services, Dave’s medical costs, assist with Dave and Jen’s financial obligations, and any other expenses to help with Dave and Jen’s family get through these heartbreaking times.”

Jen has a 13-year-old daughter named Emily Steinman, and Dave has an adult son and daughter – Kevin and Alexa Fouts.
