FWC Offering Decals To Raise Money For Conservation Research

Tallahassee, FL - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission introduces new manatee and sea turtle decals every July to raise money for conservation and awareness of the sea creatures specific issues.

The decals are sold for five dollars apiece and feature beautiful original artwork. The money from their sales support the research, rescue and management efforts that conserve the species.

This year's decals are "Warm Water Saves Manatees" and "Keep on Swimming" for the sea turtles. More than 6,000 manatees travel Florida's coastal waters, rivers, and freshwater springs. Nearly 20,000 sea turtles nest each year both coasts.

The decals can be ordered online for sea turtles or manatees. You can also purchase them at your local tax collector's office.
