Daytona Beach, FL - To help raise awareness and to combat the most common type of cancer, Halifax Health is offering free skin cancer screenings.

"Skin cancer is by far the most common type of cancer there is," said Tangela Boyd, MA, PR Specialist at Halifax Health. "There are more than 3.5 million new cases of skin cancer diagnosed in the US annually. And of course, living here in Florida where we are blessed with all of this beautiful sunshine practically year round... that leaves us especially vulnerable to skin cancer." According to Boyd, that's why it's important for Floridians to get screenings annually.

The free screenings will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at the Center for Oncology at Twin Lakes, 1890 LPGA Blvd., Suite 140, Daytona Beach. Appointments are available by RSVP only - walk ins will not be accepted. To RSVP call 386-425-7310.
