Ft. Lauderdale, Florida - A former police officer from New Smyrna Beach punched and knocked out a valet at the Ocean Sky Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, and now the manager of the hotel is questioning why the man wasn't arrested.
37-year-old John Kiernan got into a dispute with the valet over an $18 charge. Video was not immediately available for officers, and the lead officer who responded to the incident said he had no idea at the time that Kiernan was a former officer.
The front office manager of the hotel, Nigel Blair, said on Monday that it makes no sense that police did not arrest Kiernan. For more on this story, go to AP News.com.
