New Smyrna Beach, FL – A former teacher at New Smyrna Beach High School stands accused of engaging in sexual activities with a 16-year-old male/
Not much has been released yet, but the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says that 28-year-old Megan Parris turned herself in last night (October 17th) after a judge signed a warrant for her arrest.
That’s due to an investigation that was launched in March after a student reported information about sexual activity between Parris and the victim. As a result, the school placed Parris on paid administrative leave.
Over the course of the investigation, through interviews and search warrants, investigators established probable cause that Parris had sexual encounters with the victim off-campus.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release more information.
