Bunnell, FL - As part of National Correction Officer Week, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly dedicated the Flagler County Detention Facility to Sheriff Perry Hall, the second elected Flagler County Sheriff who tragically died while serving and protecting his community.

On May 7, Staly unveiled the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility during a dedication ceremony in front of the jail. Staly spoke about Sheriff Hall’s life and how it ended while he was making an arrest on August 21, 1927. Hall was the first law enforcement officer in the county to be killed in the line of duty.

Staly also worked a shift as a Detention Deputy at the jail where he assisted in supervising inmates, worked in the control room, and booked offenders.
