Palm Coast, FL - Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager is giving the nod to James T. "Tom" Russell as Flagler Palm Coast High School's next principal. Russell will be the 13th principal at FPCHS since the school opened in 1974.

“I expect Tom to do a wonderful job at Flagler Palm Coast High School,” says Superintendent Tager. “He is inheriting a great campus which is full of activity and expects to continue a long-standing tradition of excellence. As we went through this process, Tom came out as hungry, humble and smart. I feel he is the best choice for the FPC students, faculty, staff, and Flagler County community.”

“I am grateful to Superintendent Tager and the Flagler County School Board for giving me this opportunity to lead Flagler Palm Coast High School,” Russell said on receiving the news. “This school has played such a vital part in the Flagler County community and I am humbled to be asked to be a part of this.”

Russell, most recently Superintendent of Schools for Volusia county since 2015, will finish up his tenure next week helping interim Superintendent Tim Egnor get acclimated. He starts his new job on Monday, July 1. Russell will work with retiring principal Bob Wallace for a smooth transition at Flagler Palm Coast High School.
