Palm Coast, FL - A 65-year-old Flagler man is back in jail after an accusation that he shot his girlfriend in the ear during an argument over Chinese food. The 46-year-old girlfriend of George Virgin told the Flagler County Sheriff's Office it happened around 9:20 last Saturday night at their home on Shady Place. According to the report, it all started when she was sitting in the living room having an argument with Virgin about his son. Detectives believe that, during a break in the argument, she ordered Chinese food from a local restaurant, after which Virgin became angry because he thought the price seemed too high for what the couple had ordered. Per the report, Virgin then went up to her and struck her twice on the face. She then called the restaurant back to dispute the pricing. During the call, she noticed Virgin standing in front of her with a gun pointed at her face. She attempted to smack the gun away and was shot in the ear by Virgin. Virgin, however, told deputies that he was sleeping when his girlfriend woke him up and that's when the argument about his son began. He said that she sat in the living room and began to wave his .357 revolver around, claiming that she would shoot his son if he were to come home. He then stated he tried to wrestle the gun away and that's when the shot was fired. According to FCSO, Virgin has served two years' probation on a similar charge of aggravated battery back in 1999, and had a domestic battery charged dropped two years ago. He's currently held at Flagler County Jail on a $42,500 bond with a felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
