Flagler County, FL - Flagler County has finished it's public safety software upgrade and the system is running smoothly.
“This is a big sigh of relief for us,” said Jarrod Shupe, Flagler County’s director of information technology. “We redeveloped and rebuilt everything with a redundant server system and we’ve replaced all the switches.”
The previous system had only one CAD server, but now there are 3 plus 8 virtual servers which serve to help avoid system overloads.
“Jarrod and everyone in his department did a great job configuring the CAD servers to eliminate potential problems,” County Administrator Craig Coffey said. “He came up with a great system – a great solution.”
Back in December of 2015, County Commissioners voted to fast track upgrades both at the Sheriff's Office and the County. That cost $500,000 which brought the total cost for the improvements up to $1.2 million.
“It was very important for us to get this taken care of right away,” said Commission Chair Barbara Revels. “We want to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep our residents safe.”
