Volusia and Flagler Counties, FL - Florida Hospital has opened a new scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, and outpatient authorization office to service patients in both Volusia and Flagler Counties.
The new office is located at 1061 Medical Center Drive, Suite 111, in Orange City. Before a patient goes to a hospital for imaging, respiratory, cardiology, or nuclear medicine services, pre-registration must be completed to determine a patient's insurance eligibility and if there is any payment due at the time of service. To request an appointment with a scheduling agent or to view available appointment times, patients can visit www.FHimaging.org.
At this time, patients wishing to schedule an appointment at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City or Florida Hospital DeLand in DeLand can call 833-881-9081.Patients wishing to schedule an appointment at Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, or Florida Hospital New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach can call 386-231-5055.
In June, the office will begin using one phone number for patients to call. On May 14, the office will implement new hours, 8 AM to 7 PM, to give patients more convenient times to speak with a Florida Hospital representative.
The office has also installed new phone systems and dashboards that allow employees to answer calls within 20 seconds, decrease the average time it takes to answer calls, reduce the rate of patients hanging up before they are assisted, and reduce the average hold time. This has allowed the office to reduce the amount of time it takes to schedule an appointment for a patient.
Prior to the opening of the new office, Florida Hospital facilities in Volusia and Flagler had their own scheduling departments. Over the last couple years, Florida Hospital has worked to centralize scheduling services to better serve the community.
The office employs 43 individuals with Florida Hospital DeLand in DeLand, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, and Florida Hospital New Smyrna in New Smyrna Beach.
“With this move, we are proud to share that we did not have any downtime. Our customers – which includes patients, physician offices, and employees – were none-the-wiser as we underwent this huge transition. At no point did we close our office, as our top priority is those we humbly serve, our community,” said Amy Bennett, Florida Hospital’s Volusia and Flagler regional pre-access director. “In addition, we did not have any layoffs with this change, as all positions were transitioned over to the new location in Orange City.”
