FL Hospital Hosts Nurses Week 5K Road Race

Orange City, FL – In honor of Nurses Week, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial will host a 5K run on Saturday, May 7 at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City.

The race is from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and it will start and end at the Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Summit Building at 1061 Medical Center Drive, Orange City. A family-friendly event, there will also be a children’s race for ages 11 and under. Walkers are also encouraged to attend. Finisher medals and awards will be provided.

Proceeds from the Nurses Week 5K will be split to benefit nursing education and the Community Life Center Outreach Services in Deltona. Attendees are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item at race package pick up to benefit Community Life Center Outreach Services food pantry.

National Nurses Week begins May 6, on Nurse Recognition Day, and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. This annual national celebration focuses attention on the diverse ways America's 3.1 million registered nurses work to save lives and to improve the health of millions of individuals.
