Volusia County, FL – Volusia County Schools has identified its 161 teachers recognized by the state as being some of the “highest impact teachers” in Florida.

Recently, The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) released a list of “high impact teachers” chosen based on students’ performance on state standardized assessments during the 2016-17, 2015-16 and 2014-15 school years. The teachers recognized must have taught English Language Arts (grades 4-10), mathematics (grades 4-8) or algebra (grades 8-9).

“Each of these teachers is to be commended for having a positive impact on student learning and growth,” said Volusia County Superintendent Tom Russell.  “All of us recognize that teaching is exceptionally hard work, and it is yielding positive results as our students continue to make progress.”
