Five Arrested In DeBary Gun Shop Burglary

DeBary, FL - A DeBary gun store was robbed over the weekend but suspects are already in custody. The Orange County Sheriff's Office was already investigating the group of men who robbed the store. On Saturday night, they were conducting surveillance on the group's stolen Nissan Murano and followed it to SWUB Tactical on S. Charles Beall Blvd. in DeBary. They say the suspects used bricks to smash their way in and then smashed open several locked cases containing handguns, shotguns and AR-10 and AR-15 rifles. The Orange County deputies followed them back to Orlando. A traffic stop was conducted. Three of them ran from the vehicle but were apprehended and all were placed under arrest. The defendants all face the same charges of armed burglary and grand theft. Eighteen firearms were stolen and all but one of them were found. The missing gun was entered as stolen. The total value of the guns taken from the store was $14,580. The defendants are all from the same address on Mercy Drive in Orlando. They are identified as Jaquez Tuijay Smith, 19, Marcus Ellington, 17, Jaheim Shelton, 16, Darrion Montgomery, 15 and Rodreakas Smith, 15.
