Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - The fourth scheduled meeting to discuss road impact fees in Volusia County is scheduled for Tuesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Daytona Beach City Commission Chambers.

Director of Growth and Resource Management for the county, Clay Ervin, feels that the meetings have been well attended and residents are asking good questions. One of the attendees is one of the original authors of the 1986 road impact fee ordinance. Ervin said that man offered some good history on the issue.

Ervin said representatives from the Volusia Builders Industry Association and the real estate world have also been in attendance. He said this is a good thing because they are getting comments and questions from everyone who has an interest in the subject.

While residents want to see an increase for development impact fees go into effect as soon as possible, Ervin said they are trying to strike a balance so that those with a business plan based on impact fees are not substantially hurt when the fees go into effect.

With the final meeting taking place this week, Ervin said that all the questions, information and feedback will be collated into an understandable package for the Volusia County council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 13.
