FHP Investigating Woodland Blvd Pedestrian Fatality

DeLand, FL - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a woman walked in front of a moving car early in the morning.

According to the report, 37-year-old Marisela Beltrand was driving north on Woodland Boulevard in DeLand in the outside lane around two o'clock this morning (June 15th).

Then, FHP says 57-year-old Christine Johnson was standing on the east shoulder, possibly trying to cross Woodland Blvd, when she stepped in the path of Beltrand's vehicle.

Johnson was killed as a result.

The incident remains under investigation. The report did not state if Beltrand could face charges in the incident.
