FHP: Charges Pending In Fatal I-95 Crash

Daytona Beach, FL - A 19-year-old passenger is dead following a fatal nighttime crash on I-95.

The crash report from Florida Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Tsa'dric Sands was driving with Melvin Brown on northbound I-95 last night (June 11th).

Then, just before 10 p.m., Sands' vehicle left the roadway towards the center median.

Sands ended up driving off the roadway until the vehicle hit a tree, ejecting Sands and killing Brown.

Charges are pending against Sands, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Initially, Sands condition was stated to be serious according to the original crash report. But, Lieutenant Kim Montes, Public Information Officer for FHP, says he's currently in stable condition at Halifax Health Medical Center.

Montes also said investigators have yet to interview Sands regarding the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
