FEMA To Present Digital Flood Maps in Flagler County

Flagler County, FL-Flagler County residents will be able to view preliminary flood insurance rate maps for coastal areas this week.

Danon Lucas, FEMA spokesperson, said an open house on Thursday will be a one-on-one event so individuals can get the help they need to read the digital maps. The maps show the extent to which areas are at risk for flooding so rates and requirements can be adjusted.

Flood maps are updated periodically to reflect changes due to construction and development, environmental changes and other factors. The digital maps also improve improve flood hazard risk information.

The FEMA open house takes place on Thursday, May 5, from 4 until 7 P.M. at the Hammock Community Center in Palm Coast.
